UK Tightens Border Control

You know, I remember reading an article about how the Japanese border police will fingerprint any non-Japanese people entering the country. And I remember thinking that was ridiculous and wrong.

Well, the UK government is now planning the same thing. Anyone applying for a visa will be fingerprinted and will have their photo taken, "to counter terrorism".

OK, so I admit that it'll help stop people who are already on a database of undesirables, but it won't stop new recruits from entering the country. But, basically, it all seems a bit too 1984 for me...
